Mrs. Ugochi Bessie Essienette, Abia State Liaison Officer in Lagos, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to society with the prestigious Igbo Ndi Oma Africa TV Award.
The award acknowledges her exceptional service, integrity, and professionalism in her role.
Historically, the Igbo Ndi Oma TV Award is an honour bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service, integrity, courage and professionalism in chosen career, advocacy or philanthropy.
The Award was presented by Prince Obinna Orji, Onu Na Ekwuru Igbo. Igirigi Ndi Igbo,
initiator of the award event who praised the virtues of Madam Essienette for her heart of gold , and resilience in service.
Unarguably, Madam Essienette is known to have made significant impact at the Abia State Liaison Office in Lagos since resuming work on September 4, 2023.
Despite the office’s initial dilapidated state, she spearheaded the construction of a temporary container office while awaiting renovation.
Her community engagement efforts include active collaboration with the Abia State Town Union Association’s men’s, women’s, and youth wings in Lagos.
Notably, she ensured free buses were provided for Abians to travel to and from Abia during the Christmas season, courtesy of the state government’s support, showcasing her commitment to the community.
Her humanitarian work has been commendable, particularly in providing accommodation for vulnerable individuals rescued from human trafficking. She works closely with agencies like NAPTIP Lagos to ensure these individuals receive necessary support before resettlement through the Abia State Vulnerable Groups and Poverty Alleviation office.
Under her leadership, the office has become a beacon of hope for Abians in Lagos facing challenges.
Her dedication has positively impacted many lives, demonstrating her commitment to serving the community.
The Award ceremony was witnessed by Abia many Town Union members in Lagos including: Prince Ejiuru Ikenga (President -General), Dr. Chijioke Iheonunekwu (JP)
