The Police Command in Lagos State has found a 32-year-old man, Odera Mbadiwe, who was previously reported missing and whose case went viral on social media.
The command’s deputy spokesperson, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
He stated that it was reported to the police that Mbadiwe left his residence at Victoria Island on Monday with his father’s vehicle, a Nissan 350Z Convertible, and did not return home.
“This prompted his family to report him missing at Victoria Island Police Division on Sept. 3.
“A discreet and diligent investigation as promptly ordered by the Commissioner of Police(CP) Olohundare Jimoh, into the disappearance of the missing person, ” the image maker said.
He said that acting on actionable intelligence and with the support of public-spirited individuals, Mbadiwe was traced to the Mile 2 area of the state, where he was found hale and hearty, though in a distressed state.
The spokesperson said that in the course of the investigation, the vehicle was also recovered.
According to him, Mbadiwe has been reunited with his family and is receiving medical attention and proper care.
Oluseyi said that CP praised the police and public for helping find the missing person.
“The commissioner commends the swift efforts of police operatives and the cooperation of the public, whose useful information led to the discovery of the missing person.
“CP Jimoh reassures residents that the command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all.
“Jimoh further urges members of the public to promptly report similar cases for immediate police action, ” Oluseyi said.
