The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.
The electoral umpire made the announcement on Friday, outlining key dates and milestones that will guide political parties, candidates and other stakeholders in the build-up to the nationwide polls.
In a statement issued by the commission, Independent National Electoral Commission said the timetable provides a structured framework for party primaries, submission of nomination forms, campaigns, and other statutory processes ahead of the elections.
Although full details of the schedule are still being examined, the commission assured Nigerians of its commitment to conducting free, fair and credible elections in 2027.
INEC urged political parties to strictly adhere to the approved timelines and comply with relevant provisions of the Electoral Act and the Constitution to avoid disqualification or sanctions.
The 2027 general elections are expected to determine the next President, members of the National Assembly, state governors and members of the Houses of Assembly.
