The Pro-Chancellor/Chairman Governing of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, has extended his warmest felicitations to Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State for the 2025 Silverbird Man of the Year Award conferred on him in Lagos on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Ndoma-Egba, a former Senate Leader and ex-Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board Chairman, in a statement, hailed Otu’s emergence as Silverbird Man of the Year, describing the award as a well-deserved honour considering the significant impact the governor has made on the lives of Cross Riverians since he assumed office.

The legal luminary, APC stalwart and strong ally of the governor, who was the lawmaker representing Cross River Central Senatorial District between 2003 and 2015 in the Senate, noted that Otu had always been a man of the people right from his days as a parliamentarian in the National Assembly.

“The prestigious Man of the Year 2025 Award bestowed on His Excellency, Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State, by the Silverbird Group, a leading Nigerian diversified media and entertainment conglomerate, is a well merited honour for a man that has worked assiduously to make a difference in governance and better the lives of Cross Riverian,” Ndoma-Egba said.

He added: “I congratulate our amiable governor for making us proud. Cross Riverians never doubted his capacity to perform, which was why they massively voted for him in 2023 to elect him as their governor. He has not disappointed the people. He is doing excellently well and therefore truly deserves this esteemed award from the reputable Silverbird Group and the several other honours he had received from different bodies since he came into office.”
