A member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Okechukwu Aneke, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on his 54th birthday, commending what he described as transformative leadership and “disruptive innovation” across the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Aneke, who represents Udi South State Constituency, said the governor’s administration had, in less than three years, repositioned Enugu through bold reforms and infrastructure development.
He highlighted the near completion of 260 Smart Green Schools across all wards in the state, describing the initiative as a “smart education revolution” aimed at equipping children with digital and technological skills in a modern learning environment.
The lawmaker also praised ongoing road construction and dualisation projects across urban and rural areas, noting that the developments had improved connectivity and boosted ease of doing business.
On water supply, Aneke pointed to the 9th Mile 24/7 Water Scheme and the rehabilitation of the Ajali and Oji River water facilities, expressing optimism that the projects would end decades-long water scarcity in the state once fully operational.
According to him, the Mbah administration has also driven economic growth by significantly increasing internally generated revenue (IGR) and attracting investments through the revival of key state assets, including the Hotel Presidential, the Enugu International Conference Centre, and the proposed Enugu Air project.
He further credited the governor with improving security through the dismantling of illegal sit-at-home activities and the deployment of technology-driven security systems, which he said had restored commercial activities and public confidence.
Aneke added that the administration’s policies had positively impacted youths in his constituency through skills development and innovation-driven programmes.
“As you mark 54 years, it is our prayer that you are granted renewed strength and wisdom to consolidate on the gains recorded so far,” he said, wishing the governor continued success in office.
Governor Mbah, who assumed office in 2023, has consistently emphasized a governance model anchored on innovation, economic expansion and public sector reforms in Enugu State.
