Abiola’s Appointment as GM, Radio Nigeria 103.5 FM Lagos, a Testament to Competence – JIFORM

The Journalists International Forum for Migration (JIFORM) has described the appointment of Mr. Abiola Olawale Peters as the General Manager of Radio Nigeria 103.5 FM Lagos as a testament to his unwavering competence, professionalism, and leadership in journalism.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday in London by the President of JIFORM,

Dr. Ajibola Abayomi, the forum said the appointment was well-deserved, reflecting Abiola’s exceptional track record as a resilient, resourceful, and highly committed media professional.

“On behalf of JIFORM, we rejoice with you on this major milestone in your distinguished career. Your appointment as General Manager is a clear endorsement of your competence, integrity, and commitment to journalistic excellence. We are confident that under your leadership, Radio Nigeria 103.5 FM Lagos will experience remarkable progress and innovation.”

The statement further highlighted that Abiola’s elevation was not a surprise, but rather a fitting recognition of years of dedicated service in the media.

“This is not just a promotion but a well-earned reward for your dedication and hard work. Your performance in previous roles — as Assistant Director, News and Current Affairs at Radio Nigeria and Head of News at Bond FM — speaks volumes about your capacity, discipline, and vision. Your rise is truly meritorious,” the statement added.

Dr. Ajibola also emphasized Abiola’s immense contributions to the activities of JIFORM:

“Abiola Peters is more than a colleague; he is a trusted ally and an international journalist of repute. As JIFORM’s Organising Secretary, he has played a central role in shaping the forum’s global engagements

. His dedication to ethical journalism and commitment to advancing safe, orderly, and regular migration have been evident since he joined JIFORM as a founding member in 2019.”

The President also commended Abiola’s academic and professional background, stating:

“He is an alumnus of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where we both studied Mass Communication, and he holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. His academic credentials further reinforce the depth of his leadership.”

“As a multi-award-winning journalist, you were instrumental in the planning and execution of several JIFORM Global Migration Summits held across Ghana, Canada, the United States, and Togo. Your strategic insight and organisational competence have contributed significantly to the forum’s global success,” Dr. Ajibola concluded.

JIFORM is a global media and civil society organisation founded in 2019, headquartered in Nigeria with operational offices in North America and Europe.

The forum is dedicated to promoting ethical migration journalism, advancing the rights and dignity of migrants, and supporting safe, orderly, and regular migration through advocacy, research, training, and international collaboration.

With a membership of over 350 journalists and media professionals from across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia, JIFORM has successfully organised multiple international migration summits and training programs in countries including Ghana, Canada, the United States, Togo, and the United Kingdom.
