The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) is set to hold its 16th Convocation ceremony from Tuesday, 21st to Saturday 25th April, 2026.
According to a publication on the institution’s news bulletin, the 16th Convocation will begin with a Press Conference by the COOU Vice-Chancellor (VC), Professor Kate Omenugha on Tuesday, April 21 at 12noon in the VC’s Conference Room, Igbariam Campus. On Wednesday, April 22, an Interdenominational Service and Students Day with the VC will take place at the ETF Auditorium, Igbariam Campus by 10am.
The following day, April 23, which is the Founder’s Day, the 4th Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Memorial Lecture, with the theme, “Sustainable and Climate Resilience Future: Beyond Rhetorics”, will be delivered His Excellency, the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Gautier Mignot, at the ETF Auditorium, Igbariam Campus by 11am.
The Convocation Lecture scheduled for Thursday, April 24 will be presented by His Excellence, the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Michal Cygan, by 10am at the ETF Auditorium, Igbariam Campus, while the Convocation Ceremony for both undergraduate and postgraduate graduands, tagged “Diplomatic Convocation” is slated for Saturday, April 25, at the Convocation Arena, by 11am.
As part of preparations for the 16th Convocation Ceremony, members of the COOU’s Senate Ceremonial Sub-Committee led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), Administration and Environmental Sustainability, Professor A.C. Nweke, have visited some prominent Nigerians to formally intimate and invite them for the major events of the university’s 16th Convocation.
