A seasoned journalist, communicator, and economist, Mr. Peter Willie, has declared intention to vie for the seat of the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly in the 2027 General Election.
In his statement of declaration to the members of Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency of Cross River State, Mr. Willie, a one-time legislative aide in the National Assembly, averred that the people of the constituency deserve a better representation in the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the country’s Federal Legislature.
His words:
“My good people of Abi and Yakurr,
“I come before you today not as a career politician, but as a son of the soil who understands your struggles, your hopes, and your resilience. I am offering myself to serve because our constituency deserves stronger representation, louder advocacy, and real results in the House of Representatives.
“For too long, our voices have been too quiet in Abuja.
“Today is not just the launch of a campaign. it is the beginning of a movement for purposeful representation.
“I am running because our constituency deserves more than visibility, we deserve value. Our youths are hardworking but under-supported. Our farmers produce wealth but lack protection and access. Our communities are rich in culture and strength, yet poor in federal attention. This must change.
“I am offering leadership that listens, representation that speaks boldly, and service that delivers results. If given the mandate, I will take the concerns of Abi and Yakurr to Abuja and ensure they are heard where decisions are made.
“This campaign is about you, your future, your children, and the kind of constituency we want to build together. With unity, courage, and commitment, we can secure opportunities, attract development, and restore hope.
“Let us rise together. Let us speak with one voice. Let us move forward with purpose.
“Serving the people, securing the future.
“I ask for your support, your prayers, and your votes.
“God bless Abi and Yakurr Federal Constituency. God bless Cross River State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
