Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has felicitated with the Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District, Sen. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr., on the occasion of his 41st birthday, describing him as a “remarkable young leader” whose contributions to the development of the state and nation continue to inspire confidence and hope.
In a goodwill message released by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Linus Obogo, marking the milestone, Governor Otu described Ekpenyong’s 41st birthday as “a celebration not merely of the passing of another year, but of a life distinguished by promise, purpose, intellect and an uncommon commitment to the service of our people.”
Otu, who recalled Ekpenyong’s service as Commissioner for Finance, said his trajectory in public service had demonstrated that “youth, when married to vision, discipline and courage, can become a formidable instrument for transformative leadership.”
The Governor said he was particularly proud of the Senator’s “energy, ingenuity and patriotic zeal,” noting that Ekpenyong had consistently brought these qualities to bear in every responsibility entrusted to him. He described his journey so far as “one of admirable accomplishments,” adding that his contributions had continued to underscore the immense possibilities inherent in purposeful youthful leadership.
According to Otu, Ekpenyong’s emergence and growth in public service represented a source of encouragement to a new generation of leaders. “Your journey thus far has been one of admirable accomplishments,” he said, stressing that the Senator’s record had established him as “a formidable instrument for transformative leadership.”
The Governor urged the birthday celebrant to embrace the new chapter of his life with renewed commitment to service, assuring him of his prayers and goodwill. “I pray that the Almighty God will crown your years with greater wisdom, sound health, uncommon favour and abundant grace,” Otu said.
He further prayed that God would “enlarge your coast, illuminate your path and endow you with the strength and wisdom to soar to even greater heights in the service of humanity,” while expressing confidence that the years ahead would bring Ekpenyong greater fulfilment and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the prosperity of Cross River State.
“On this joyful occasion, I celebrate your life, your accomplishments and the immense possibilities that lie before you,” Governor Otu said, adding: “Happy 41st birthday, Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr.; may your best years not only be ahead of you, but may they be your most significant and glorious.”
