Senatorial bid of Dame Blessing Nwagba receives boost
… Osusu Aba community vows to deliver

As the political camp of the senatorial candidate for Abia South Senatorial District, Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba, continues to receive massive support the people of Osusu Aba Community have joined the train.

This is as the community endorsed her senatorial ambition, assuring her of their maximum support at the polls.
The community made the pledge at a well-attended meeting held on Friday, 28th October, 2022 at Osusu Aba Civic Hall.

Addressing her hosts, Hon Dame Nwagba, a two-time member of the Abia State House of Assembly, informed them that she has the legislative experience, eloquence, boldness and education to give Abia South Senatorial zone quality representation at the red chamber of the National Assembly. She recalled that in her first term at the state House of Assembly that she constantly brought the challenges of her constituency on the floor of the House of Assembly to the point that her colleagues gave her the sobriquet ‘madam matter of urgent public importance’.

She informed the gathering that it took only 6 months for her to attract the attention of state government to reconstruct the ring road of Ariaria international market which was impassable as of then.

Speaking further, Hon Dame Nwagba said it’s not in her nature to criticize people on their performance but assured the people of Osusu Aba that when she emerges as the senator representing their zone, she will attract the much-needed Federal presence to the zone.

She said that infrastructure in the zone require critical attention as almost all the federal roads in the zone are dilapidated. She stated further that as an advocate of women inclusion in governance, when elected, she would ensure that women and youths receive adequate attention.

The former law maker promised to establish ICT training centres and other skills acquisition centres in the senatorial zone.
She concluded by informing the people of Osusu Aba that other communities and LGAs are in support of her senatorial bid, and therefore solicited their support, promising not to disappoint them.

In his own contribution, the Deputy Director-General of Total Blessing Campaign Council, Mr Tony Egu, informed the people of Osusu Aba that as an old Bende person that his people are in total support of Hon Dame Nwagba. He went further to state that it is only Aba Federal Constituency amongst the 3 Federal Constituencies in the Senatorial district that are yet to produce a Senator.

Continuing, he noted that a senator of Abia South Senatorial District from Aba will benefit his people immensely as most of them live and run their businesses in Aba.
He concluded by informing them that the APC candidate is very credible and experienced and the only woman in the race for Abia South Senatorial district and therefore asked the people of Osusu Aba to give her their unalloyed support because he knows she will deliver when elected.

Speaking on behalf of the women, the Chairperson of Osusu Aba Community, Mrs Ijeoma Omenazu said that the women of Osusu Aba have resolved to support and vote for Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba. She stated that when she was in the House that they benefited immensely from her good works. She recalled how Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba distributed palliatives to them during the time of Covid-19 pandemic. The chairperson’s speech was supported by Ugoeze Patience Ikonne.

Mr Chidi B Nwogwugwu, a native of Osusu Aba, in his own speech, stated that Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba is qualified in all ramifications given her credible antecedents to represent Abia South Senatorial district. He stated that Senator Adolphus Wabara from Ukwa East had represented the people of Abia South in the Senate, presently Senator Abaribe from Obingwa is representing the zone now and the Governor who is also from Obingwa wants to crossover to the Senate. He advised the Governor to jettison his senatorial ambition. He said that now is the turn of Aba people to reprensent Abia South Senatorial District and that Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba has the intellectual capacity to give Aba South Senatorial district quality representation and that people of Osusu Aba will give her maximum support.

The people of Osusu Aba unanimously accepted to support Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba. They made the resolution when the community chairman, Chief Ikechi Nwala passed a voice vote which the people responded in the affirmative. He went further to encourage those who were yet to pick their PVCs to do so as their support will amount to nothing without PVC.
