The body of Nathaniel Nwankwo Ulu will be laid to rest in his father’s compound Agbogo, Obiene Ututu in Arochukwu LGA of Abia state on Saturday 18th February 2023
Ulu was gruesomely murdered on Thursday 18th August 2022.
According to the story by his father Mr Johnson Ulu who resides at plot 3 Umu Aro Street, location 15 Umu Ebule 2 Etche LGA , Rivers State.
He was murdered after a minor quarrel with a neighbor . The father disclosed that he was coming back from his normal closure of business of the day with his son Nathaniel. As they got to their bus stop, Shell location near the Flow Station, he told Nathaniel to go home from there while he stopped by to meet with some friends.
Nathaniel on getting home at around 6:47pm on the faithful day saw his younger sister Esther crying as she was inflicted with injuries on her legs. When Nathaniel inquired from the sister why she was crying, Esther told him that a woman within the neighborhood flogged her on her legs where she and her friend had gone to sew her school bag.
According to the father, Nathaniel immediately took his sister Esther to the lady’s house to know the why she flogged Esther, inflicting injury on her . it was at that point that an argument ensued and the next thing the lady did was to call her boyfriend, one of the area boys in the area by name Wisdom Mike AKA boss by phone.
Unknown to Nathaniel, Wisdom Mike had already invited two other of his friends who also live in the neighborhood.
Wisdom Mike and his friends rushed to the venue carrying dangerous weapons including broken bottles.
Without being patient enough to enquire what was the problem they went ahead to confront Nathaniel, used the dangerous weapons on him and murdered him in cold blood.
Nathanael was at that point rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
The case was reported to the Divisional Officer,- In- Charge of Umu Ebule 1 Police Station and later transferred to the State CID, Police headquarters, Rivers State command for further investigation.
Reports by the media show that the Police have been playing politics on the death of Nathaniel. It was gathered that even the lady that brought Wisdom Mike and his two friends to murder Nathaniel has been released from Police custody .
Also, further investigation revealed that Mr Ulu was only allowed to carry Nathaniel for burial after he payed heavily for the autopsy of his son.
The case is still on as both the father and mother of Nathaniel are crying for justice to be done on the death of their son.
