It was a joyful moment for the Bethorey Home for challenged persons in Lagos on Monday, 2 October as the Ultimate Circle of Nigeria visited the home with gift items, including cash in celebration of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.
UCN, is one of Nigeria’s leading service-oriented, socio-philanthropic family clubs.
The scheduled visit is part of its dedicated need-meeting activities in marking this year’s nation’s independence.
Representing the UCN president, Hon. Lukman Olumoh, the past president, Adelaja Adeleye, who led the members to the home, commended the challenged residents of the home for staying happy and praising God not withstanding the conditions they have found themselves.
According to him “That you all remember to celebrate Nigeria, even in your challenged positions, calls for more reason to celebrate with you”.
Adelaja who presented the home with a UCN cheque of two hundred and fifty thousand Naira alongside other gifts, including bags of rice, other foods, beverages and toiletry, advised the administrators of the home to phantom ways by which they could reach out to more corporate concerns particularly organisations which may wish to include the Bethorey home in their yearly corporate social responsibility activities.
Adeleye praised all the workers of the home for their dedication, perseverance and passion with which they exemplify love and thoughtfulness in taking care of the needs of the inmates of the home.
“As you dedicate your time and energy in showing love to, and taking care of these needy ones, God Almighty will surely take care of your needs”. He prayed.
He assured the home of UCN’s continued support as the home had been adopted by the club many years back.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Bethorey Home administrator, Mrs. Tayo Udoh, thanked the UCN for its unrepentant and persistent support for the home.
She commended the group for always coming to the aid of the home at all times and also lending the shoulders of the club to the home to lean on.
Mrs. Udoh appealed to the UCN for continued support particularly from friends of the club to help the home attain international standard.
Other members of UCN in the delegation included, Segun Owokade, the club secretary, ex – officio member Sunkanmi Ologundudu, member Bernard Eboreime and Adegboyega Ogunosun, publicity secretary of the club.
