CHSR commiserates with army over death of COAS Lt. Gen.Taoreed Lagbaja

The Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights CHSR has commiserated with the Nigerian Army, the FGN and the immediate family of Chief Of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja who died on Wednesday.

The rights group urged the Nigerian army to see the death of the Army chief as a challenge to win the fight against insurgence and other associated vices plaguing Nigeria.

In a press statement signed by CHSR, National president
Comrade Alex Omotehinse, made available to the media, the group said Lagbaja was a fine officer who in his lifetime was committed to riding Nigeria off criminal elements.

The statement reads in part”
“We commiserate with the Nigerian Army, the FGN and the immediate family of Chief Of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja who died on Wednesday.

“We urge the Nigerian Army not to see the death of the Army chief as a resolve to defeat in the fight against insurgence and other associated vices plaguing Nigeria.

“It is our strong believe that Lt. Gen Taoreed Lagbaja during his lifetime was committed to riding Nigeria off criminal elements Lagbaja left an indelible mark on the sand of times

“Nigeria has just lost a great man our sincere condolence to Mr. President , Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigerian Army and his immediate family that he left behind.

“May his gentle soul rest in peace .Amen.”
