The Lagos State High Court has adjourned the Owode Onirin land dispute case to November 13, 2025, following the murder of six traders at the market.
The case, which was slated for settlement, was adjourned after Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Femi Falana, told the court that the traders were no longer interested in settlement due to the recent killings.
In his Falana’s submission Falana, who is seeking to be joined in the case, alleged that the six traders were murdered by police officers from Nasarawa State who have since been set free.
He urged the court to ensure that those involved in the killings face justice.
Counsel to Kosofe Local Government, Muhammed Usman, told the court that they were not aware of the situation and were ready to withdraw their earlier service.
Counsel to the judgment creditor stated that parties had been in settlement talks at the office of the Attorney-General of Lagos State, but the talks were objected to by Falana.
After hearing from counsel to parties in the case, the trial judge, Justice Savage, adjourned the case to November 13, 2025, and asked counsel to do the necessary service and return to court on the adjourned date.
