The family of late Mrs. Grace Ndu (née Kanu) has announced the burial arrangements for their beloved matriarch, who passed on at the age of 69 after a protracted illness.

According to the funeral programme released by the family, burial activities will commence on Thursday, April 23, 2026, with a service of songs and wake-keep at Ezi Agbadu Compound, Amakofia-Ututu, in Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State.

The funeral service is scheduled to hold on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Amakofia-Ututu. Interment will follow immediately at her husband compound in Agbadu, Amakofia-Ututu, Arochukwu Local Government Area Abia State.

A thanksgiving service in her honour will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, also at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Amakofia-Ututu, Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State.

The funeral arrangements were announced courtesy of Azuma Ndu, deceased Son.

Also in a statement signed by Mr. Anderson Kanu on behalf of the Kanu family—into which the deceased was born—the family expressed deep sorrow over her passing but also gratitude to God for her impactful life.

“With heavy hearts but total submission to the will of Almighty God, we announce the passing of our dearly beloved sister, mother, and matriarch,” the statement read.

The family described the late Mrs. Ndu as a woman of remarkable strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith, noting that her death, though at 69, came sooner than expected.

“Though she lived a fulfilled and impactful life, her passing still feels too soon for us. However, we take solace in the truth that God knows best,” the statement added.

They further paid tribute to her enduring legacy, describing her as “a pillar to many, a source of wisdom, and a guiding light,” whose influence will continue to resonate in the lives she touched.
“As we prepare to lay her to rest, we do so with gratitude in our hearts for the gift she was to us. We celebrate her life, cherish her memories, and commit her soul into the hands of her Creator,” the family stated.

Late Mrs. Grace Ndu is remembered for her enduring love, sacrifices, and commitment to family and community. Her passing leaves a significant void, but her legacy, the family noted, will remain everlasting.

“Rest on in the bosom of the Lord until we meet again. Farewell, beloved sister,” the statement concluded.

Below is the burial message

With heavy hearts but total submission to the will of Almighty God, we announce the passing of our dearly beloved sister, mother, and matriarch, who departed this life after a protracted illness.
Though she lived a fulfilled and impactful life, her passing at the age of 69 still feels too soon for us. As a family, we had hoped and prayed that she would grow even older, enjoying many more years of rest, joy, and the fruits of her labor. However, we take solace in the truth that God knows best, and He gives and takes according to His perfect will.
We are deeply grateful to God for the life she lived—a life marked by love, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and faith. She was a pillar to many, a source of wisdom, and a guiding light whose legacy will continue to live on in all of us.
As we prepare to lay her to rest on the 24th of April, 2026, we do so with gratitude in our hearts for the gift she was to us. We celebrate her life, cherish her memories, and commit her soul into the hands of her Creator, trusting that she has found eternal peace.
Dear sister, you may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Your love, your sacrifices, and your presence will forever remain with us.
Rest on in the bosom of the Lord until we meet again.
Farewell, beloved Sister.
