Eric Nnamdi Anyamene has extended warm felicitations to children across Nigeria as the country marks the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing children as the foundation of the nation’s future and the greatest asset any society can nurture.

Anyamene, founder of the Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation (ENAF) and a House of Representatives aspirant under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency of Anambra State, made the remarks in a statement issued on Tuesday from Obosi.

He stressed that Children’s Day should go beyond festivities and serve as a moment of reflection on the collective responsibility of government, parents, and community leaders to secure a brighter future for the younger generation through quality education, healthcare, security, and economic opportunities.

According to him, the progress and development of Idemili and Nigeria at large depend largely on how well children are nurtured, protected, and empowered today.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to dream, grow, and succeed in a safe and supportive environment. As your representative, the future of our children will remain a priority through people-focused legislation and deliberate investment in education and youth development,” he stated.

The NDC chieftain reaffirmed his commitment to policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of children and youths, noting that the Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation has continued to provide scholarship support, educational assistance, and youth empowerment initiatives across communities in Idemili.

He also called for increased collaboration among stakeholders in the education sector to address challenges affecting children, including poor learning infrastructure, out-of-school children, child labour, and insecurity.

Anyamene further urged governments at all levels to prioritise child-friendly policies that would guarantee access to education and create an enabling environment for children to realise their full potential.

He wished children across the country a memorable Children’s Day celebration and encouraged them to remain focused on their education and aspirations despite prevailing socio-economic challenges.
