Joy and excitement filled the atmosphere at Harbottle College, Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday 24 July as their outgoing students were celebrated with a graduation ceremony.
The classes that graduated were: KG 2, Primary 5, JSS 3 and SS 3
Master Solomon Kanu, one of the school’s outstanding students, graduated from the Senior Secondary School SS3 at the institution’s graduation ceremony.
The colourful event brought together parents, teachers, friends, alumni and well-wishers to celebrate the graduating students, marking the successful completion of their pre-primary, primary and secondary school education and the beginning of a new chapter in their academic journey.
School administrators congratulated the graduating students for their resilience, hard work and determination, urging them to remain focused as they pursue higher education and prepare for future leadership roles.
Harbottle College has built a reputation for providing holistic education that combines academic excellence with character development and leadership training.
Family members and friends described Solomon’s graduation as a significant milestone and a reward for years of dedication and perseverance.
They expressed confidence that he would continue to excel in his future academic pursuits.
Speaking after the ceremony, his father, ace journalist Mr Daniel Kanu, expressed gratitude to God, the school’s management and teachers for nurturing his son throughout his secondary education.
“This is a memorable day for our family. We are proud of Solomon’s achievements and grateful to everyone who contributed to his academic and moral development. We believe this graduation is only the beginning of greater accomplishments ahead,” he said.
The graduation ceremony featured presentations, cultural performances, musical displays and goodwill messages, with parents celebrating the achievements of the graduating students and encouraging them to remain worthy ambassadors of their alma mater.
For Solomon Kanu, the ceremony marked not just the end of six years of secondary education but the beginning of a promising future, as family, friends and well-wishers expressed optimism that his academic brilliance and strong values would continue to distinguish him in higher education and beyond.
