Nigeria’s political landscape has become a battlefield not only of ideas and policies but also of morale. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has, over time, been accused of employing strategies aimed at demoralizing voters, especially supporters of the Obidient Movement.
From voter suppression to propaganda, from intimidation to creating an atmosphere of hopelessness, these tactics are designed to make citizens feel powerless and disconnected from the electoral process.
But history teaches us one vital lesson: *demoralization is a weapon of control*. When people lose hope, they stop participating. When they stop participating, the status quo wins by default. This is exactly what the APC hopes to achieve — a disengaged electorate that cannot challenge their hold on power.
Recent FCT elections experiment and the sudden perceived PDP declared winner decamping back to APC, all these are to demoralize Nigerians from participating in the 2027 elections.
The Obidient Movement, known for its energy, youth-driven passion, and demand for accountability, has become a major target. Its supporters are often mocked, harassed, or made to feel their efforts are futile.
Yet, it is precisely this movement that represents the possibility of a New Nigeria — one built on transparency, justice, and people-centered leadership.
To give in to these tactics is to surrender the future. Nigerians must understand that liberation is never given; it is fought for. Every attempt to silence, intimidate, or discourage must be met with greater resolve, stronger organization, and smarter strategies. Voter education, community mobilization, and peaceful but firm resistance to rigging and manipulation are key weapons in this struggle.
The message is clear: *do not let fear or frustration win. Do not let propaganda break your spirit. Do not let temporary setbacks define your destiny.* The power to change Nigeria lies in the hands of its people — especially those who refuse to be demoralized.
A New Nigeria is possible, but only if citizens stand firm, stay united, and turn their energy into action. The APC may try to demoralize, but Nigerians, especially the Obidient Movement, must rise with courage, strategy, and determination.
