Emefiele’s brothers withdraw case against AGF, DSS

George and Okanta Emefiele, brothers of the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele, have withdrawn a case they filed against the government.

The defendants in the case were specifically the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

Justice E. Okpe of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday struck out the case following its withdrawal.

The Emefiele brothers took the AGF and the DSS to court over the alleged infringement on their fundamental human rights on account of issues surrounding the embattled former CBN governor.

The AGF and the DSS did not oppose the withdrawal of the case.

Meanwhile, Emefiele’s expected arraignment at the FCT High Court over an alleged N6.9 billion procurement fraud has again been stalled.
