Super Falcons’ Uchenna Kanu, Esther Okoronkwo, others visit Alex Otti

Abia State Governor Alex Otti on Tuesday hosted four Abia-born Super Falcons players in his country home at Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of the state.

Otti made this known in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday and also shared photos.

He said, “Yesterday, I received our Super Falcons players from Abia State (Uchenna Kanu, Esther Okoronkwo, Christy Ucheibe, and Glory Ogbonna), who made their mark at the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

“Although luck may not have been on their side to advance to the Quarterfinals, their performance showcased their resilience and character.

“The accomplishments of these players highlight the progress and development of women’s football in Nigeria and further elevate the profile of Nigerian football on the international stage.

” I am sure their achievements will inspire the girl child in Nigeria and Abia in particular, thus paving the way for even greater success in the future.”

The Falcons lost to England on penalties in the Round of 16.
