Start-Rite Schools, a leading private educational institution in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has concluded a staff training session on Emotional Intelligence as part of preparations for the resumption of the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, January 12.
The training, according to the school’s Media and Communications Unit, forms part of Start-Rite Schools’ routine pre-term capacity-building programmes aimed at updating teachers, refreshing their skills, and ensuring they are fully prepared for the demands of a new academic term.
A statement shared on the school’s official Facebook page noted that the session, themed “Emotional Intelligence: The Heart of Effective Teaching,” was facilitated by Mrs Carol Barlow of Cebar Consultancy.
According to the post, the training provided staff with valuable insights, practical strategies, and opportunities for thoughtful engagement, all geared towards strengthening empathy, effective communication, and leadership in the classroom.
“It was a meaningful experience filled with valuable insights, thoughtful conversations, and practical strategies that will continue to shape how we connect, teach, and lead with empathy in our classrooms,” the statement read, adding that the school remains committed to developing teachers who lead with both excellence and compassion.
Founded by the late banker-turned-educationist and philanthropist, Mrs Amaka Ndoma-Egba, wife of former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, Start-Rite Schools is located at Plot 1036, Adesoji Aderemi Street, off Jereton Mariere Road, Gudu District, Abuja.
